Handicapped Accessible Playground
Handicapped Accessible Playground

The Glastonbury Rotary Club led an effort to construct a handicapped-access playground in Glastonbury. This playground is similar and about the same scale as Jonathan's dream in Bloomfield, Mikey's place in Wethersfield and Our Children's Place in Newington.

It is estimated that the project cost will be @ $ 300,000. The Glastonbury Rotary Club committed $ 100,000 in cash and in-kind contributions. Other funds were raised from theTown of Glastonbury, State of Connecticut, Hartwell Soccer Club and various foundations. The Rotary Club raised funds from selling Memorial Plaques that are displayed on a picket fence surrounding the playground.

The town of Glastonbury has designated Addison Park as the site for the playground. The Playground was officially opened May 10, 2003.
