Lend a Hand Program
Rotary Club members, in partnership with the town of Glastonbury Senior Services, made themselves available to provide assistance with one-shot "handyman" projects for seniors and handicapped people. Typical projects may include putting in or removing window air conditioners, hanging shades or curtains, changing batteries in smoke alarms or light bulbs in ceiling lights. The service was free and there were no income restrictions for this program.

Rotary Fields
The Glastonbury Rotary Club helps to maintain two baseball diamonds and two soccer fields built on land donated by the Club. Rotary members, along with volunteers from town, repaired and regraded the fields, installed a new sprinkler system, and planted 75,000 sq. feet of turf.

Field of Dreams Concession House
The Glastonbury Rotary Club funded and built the concession house at the Field of Dreams Little League Baseball Park. Help was also provided to grade the field and plant turf.

Jonathan's Dream
The Glastonbury Rotary Club members provided power equipment, hand tools and manpower to help build a playground designed for handicapped children. All areas of this can be accessed and used by children in wheelchairs.

Jaws of Life
The Glastonbury Rotary Club purchased "Jaws of Life" for our town fire department and rescue squad. The "Jaws of Life" is a peice of equipment used to cut apart vehicles to release people trapped inside.

J.B. Williams Kitchen and Building
The Glastonbury Rotary Club members provided funding and manpower to build a building at the J.B. Williams Park. This building, which includes a kitchen, is used by the community for picnics, etc., and can be rented from the town for private functions.

Annual Seniors Dinner
Every year the Glastonbury Rotary Club hosts a dinner for the seniors from several senior centers in the area. Transportation, food and entertainment is provided free of charge.

Glastonbury Dial a Ride
Money was donated towards the purchase of a van for the local Dial-A-Ride program.

Special Olympics
Every year the Glastonbury Rotary Club provides money and volunteers to help out with the Connecticut Special Olympic Games.

Salvation Army Christmas Drive
Organized by the Salvation Army, the Christmas Drive is an annual event where food, clothing, and toys are collected for the less fortunate members of the community. Rotary members volunteer to help collect, collate and package the items donated. This year, we had close to 100 percent participation by our members.

Rotary Youth Exchange
Rotary families host foreign exchange students from 60 different countries. For long term exchanges (an academic year), the host Rotary club provides a modest monthly allowance and pays the student's tuition for all required academic programs.

The Glastonbury Rotary Scholarship
The Glastonbury Rotary Club is well known for the Glastonbury Rotary Scholarship. The $10,000 college scholarship ($2,500 per year for 4 years) is available to any graduating secondary school senior. The award is make on the basis of financial need, scholastic attainment, and community service.
